Yarn keeps me from opening fire.

My paternal grandmother was a radio singer. She also played piano in the Shriner's Orchestra forever. Needless to say, there was always music at her house. But she always sung us the same lullaby - "Dreams," by Johnny Mercer (?). Always. Of course, now the mention of "smoke rings" rising in the air is hardly a soothing thought, but her voice was so beautiful. It was rich, jazzy, smooth.

Get in touch with that sundown fellow
As he tiptoes across the sand
He’s got a million kinds of stardust
Pick your fav’rite brand, and

Dream, when you’re feeling blue
Dream, that’s the thing to do
Just watch the smoke rings rise in the air
You’ll find your share of memories there

So dream when the day is through
Dream, and they might come true
Things never are as bad as they seem
So dream, dream, dream

That's right. It's me. Posted by Hello
